Well hello and welcome back to my blog!
It really has been a while since I last posted. In fact, I haven’t posted regularly since March! It has been a really busy year and my blog, which has always been my creative outlet has kind of dropped to the end of the list.
Anyway, I thought I’d give a brief update on what we are all up to. So, I am on to my second year of my MA. I completed two modules last year and I got a distinction for both! So I am really happy with that, overall my aim has been to get a Merit so I am definitely on track for that. Between May and October I didn’t have a lot to do for my MA so I took advantage of the girls still having funding for 10 hours per week and I got a job at Adrenalin Quarry as a receptionist. It definitely helped to have the extra money coming in! Although the girls did struggle a bit with me working and not being around as much at weekends. I also didn’t do any nursery drop-offs/pick ups for 2 months which I found tough but it was well worth it as it meant we had extra money and were able to go away a couple of times.
The girls now go to nursery for 15 hours a week. They go all day on a Monday then on Tuesdays they go for the morning and my parents have them for the afternoon as I am in uni on Mondays and Tuesdays. They also go in 9-2 on Fridays. The new balance works really well and I am finding the days I spend with them one to one so enjoyable and am really loving having such a good balance. They are absolutely loving nursery now. They have moved from the 2s room to the Pre School room and it is actually very different – there is a lot more independence and they are both absolutely thriving. They also started swimming lessons back in September and they are really, really enjoying it! Although they can be very cheeky!
Back in June, I went to the doctor and went on anti-depressants. Honestly, the decision to do this has absolutely changed my life. I was in SUCH a bad place before and I genuinely felt like life was not worth living. I was exhausted constantly and was shouting at the girls and finding life incredibly overwhelming. Within a week of being on the tablets I noticed a huge difference and I really feel like they have enabled me to function again. I still get low sometimes but no more than any other person does – it kind of just levels the playing field.
So that is where we are up to now! I hope I can get back to blogging a bit more frequently but we will see!
