Welcome to 2019

Hi everyone and welcome to 2019 on my blog!

The last part of 2018 was a little busy for me and I wasn’t able to post on my blog anywhere near as much as I would have liked to. I started my MA which was great but super busy and meant I was commuting to Plymouth twice a week. I also had my daughters in and out of hospital amongst other things that just meant I wasn’t able to post as much!

We are in to 2019 now and to be honest I’m not too sure what my blog is going to look like from now on.

I love writing and am interested in pursuing a career in copywriting which is why I feel that this blog is something good to continue – however studies show the blog posts are becoming less and less interesting to the consumer as many people find a video or an Instagram piece easier to read and more digestible. I think I will continue to post on here but it will probably be quite sporadic. I am also thinking about posting book reviews on my blog as I’m trying to get more in to reading again (especially given that I’m doing a degree in publishing) but I want to make them quick and easy to read reviews so I’m just trying to work out how to get on with that.

2018 was a year that I kind of saw as a ‘buffer year’ – we didn’t do anything too exciting. We had a little family holiday to West Cornwall, visited family and friends in Cheshire, Essex and Kent and had lots of people to come and stay with us. But in terms of big ‘life events’  it was the first year in about 5 years that we didn’t have any! We are still living in our tiny house which is going ok and still living in Cornwall and enjoying exploring. We focused on saving rather than going on any holidays or anything like that.

2019 is set to be a busy one for us – we are already pretty much set to have trips in each month of the year until September! So watch this space.
